This University of Miami News article highlighted the interdisciplinary work we are doing to uncover and protect Florida's forgotten historical landscapes.
The feature, "Shining a Light on Untold Stories from Florida's Past," delves into our research with the Coastal Heritage at Risk Task Force (CHART). We are actively working to preserve the narratives of the Saltwater Underground Railroad and the diverse communities who built new lives in coastal Florida. In the article, I discuss how transforming fragmented knowledge into value-driven action allows us to support communities in their powerful desire to have their heritage protected, shared, and honored.
